For over 50 years, Bow Valley climbers have respectfully maintained our climbing areas, parking lots, and trails, largely staying under the radar while ensuring good access and trail upkeep. However, with the recent surge in climbing's popularity, we can no longer afford to be overlooked as a user group.
Trail camera data is critical to supporting decisions made by landowners and stakeholders regarding parking, wildlife fencing entry points, and trail management. Organizations like the Bow Valley Climbers' Access Society (BVCAS), the Climbers Access Society of Alberta (CASA), and the Western Alberta Boulders Access (WABA) group amplify climbers' voices, using this data to drive meaningful conversations with stakeholders.
We extend our gratitude to Alberta Parks for their support in managing the trail cameras that benefit Bow Valley climbers.
